Walk into almost any modern rehab and you’ll spot something that would have looked out of place thirty years ago: a stack of yoga mats in the corner of the group room. Between 2002 and 2022, meditation use among U.S. adults climbed to 18.3% and yoga to 16.8%, reaching more than 60 million and 55 million people, respectively. Those practices didn’t stay in studios. They walked into treatment centers and quietly rewrote what a recovery day looks like.
