Tesla Pill
The Tesla Pill, also called “Tesla,” is a type of MDMA (ecstasy) that’s become really popular in party and festival scenes. And honestly? It concerns us. A lot. These pills are named after the famous electric car company and branded with the Tesla logo. That creates a dangerous illusion of safety and quality that just isn’t there. According to 2023 SAMHSA data, about 2.1 million Americans used MDMA in the past year. Young adults aged 18-25 have the highest rates.
MDMA works by flooding your brain with serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine. Those are chemicals that control mood and feelings. When you take Tesla pills orally, effects typically start within 30 to 60 minutes. You get intense euphoria and emotional connection that lasts several hours. But here’s what they don’t tell you at the party: Tesla pills often contain 2 to 3 times the typical MDMA dose. Sometimes reaching 240mg compared to the standard 75 to 125mg. That’s a huge difference.
